Robert Yaskovic
Before becoming a wedding photographer, Robert Yaskovic was a photojournalist for The New Jersey Herald. In his first three months at the daily newspaper Rob took home four North Jersey Press Club awards including First Place Portrait, Second and Third Place Sports and Third Place Spot News. Rob traveled from NYC to Washington, DC, documenting the September 11th attacks and subsequent reconstruction, to the 108th Congress being sworn in and politicians such as Alan Greenspan and Donald Rumsfeld.
Rob is an avid snowboarder and outdoor enthusiast, enjoys shooting photos of his friends snowboarding, skateboarding and mountain biking on his downtime. Always up for anything new, he enjoys life with his camera in hand. Rob also creates photos for friend's bands, occasionally ending up in CD layouts and posters.
Prior to becoming a press photographer, Rob worked for a local camera shop, where he honed his technical skill by photographing everything he saw. In 1999 he began learning from renowned working photographers Joe DiMaggio and Joanne Kalish. Joe and Joanne helped Rob develop a style through constant shooting and critiquing. He credits a lot of his ideas to these two amazing photographers.
In 2002 Rob met Dennis Becker through mutual friends and began working alongside him. Rob has been able to bring his photojournalist background to the core of his wedding photography and create a unique vision for each
bride on their wedding day. Rob also designs all the albums at D. Becker Photo and enjoys the opportunity to show the bride and groom a finished product: a book of photos which memorializes everything that is unique about their wedding day.
Rob lives with his favorite subjects, his wife Katie and three children, by a lake in Sussex County.
